This was my 7th journey to Tucson, and I was all over that town. I went to the Fossil and Mineral Coop on Oracle and saw the brontosaurus Rex which was for sale. I bought trilobites from Utah. I went to the Tucson Showplace where I probably spent the most on Ocean Jasper because it’s quantity is dwindling. I bought lots of specimens for my customers who are collectors.
I went to the dealers in the interstate frontage road and bought crystals of lithium from Brazil. I also got some wonderful pieces of citrine. I noticed that China is producing much fewer drilled gemstone beads. I bought some really good citrine.
I splurged on a 20 pound specimen of aquamarine. It is from Brazil, and will remain a specimen. There was a lot of aquamarine this year.
My husband is producing a video of our adventures, and it will be on my web site soon. I have videos from past years on there now.
Here’s looking forward to next year. Linda Olsen
