I am always a work in progress. My wire sculpting is most definitely a direct expression of myself. I started attempting to make jewelry at six years old. No one I knew did. But they taught me embroidery work, sewing, crochet, and knitting. Yes, those things also show up in my work. Then working as finish carpenter, cake decorator, and painter have all contributed to my designs.
At the Denver Gem Show a lovely man showed me how to do a basic wrap on my first boulder opal. (Long-time rock hound) The first piece I ever did was another boulder opal. It still hangs around my neck today. Some where between the beads, rock hounding and wire I just can't resist the art form. I started wire wrapping in my 20s. Now in 40s, I am no longer a wire wrapper, I am a wire sculptor.
My jewelry is available at Rescued Relics, Denver's RAW Art show, Wazzee Union Group, and may contact for custom work one of a kinds.

Red Matter is a necklace by Cynthia Wyatt containing a plethora of garnets, intricate wire wrapping, and a large Strawberry Quartz. (click the image to view the necklace full-size)
This piece is made with a Strawberry Quartz as center stone with garnets everywhere, including the chain. I am a physics and astronomy junkie. There is great debate about dark matter; this piece looks like space in the center, with a beautiful universe shaping around it. All contained to wear.

Silver wire wrapped cuff, Moon Rites, by Cynthia Wyatt
Why do I love making jewelry? It is my soul getting a chance to be free and test the limits of the artform for the sake of Beauty itself. It is my Business as well.
Regal Paisley by Cynthia Wyatt, a necklace made of silver wire wrapped forms and several gems.
Cynthia wire wrapped this one-of-a-kind cuff, Purple Chaos, and ornamented it with beads and woven wire strands.

Red Matter: Great use of negative space, good freeform use of normal techniques complimented with coiling; complicated but at the same time, balanced. Nice example of "wearable" art! Regal Paisley: Excellent use of negative space, great coiling and detailed wirework - very nice handcrafted "cold" filigree, balanced with well chosen stones and colors - delicate, but at the same time - stable. Moon Rites: Again, the artist shows talent in creating the look of fine filigree, resembling the ancient treasures of dreams. Beautiful stone setting, secure but not view constricting. Overall:appearing to be physically large but with a delicate and light balance.
