Tip: To create matching earrings, make one move on the first earring, then mirror it on the second earring!

Instructions

  1. Thread each six inch wire to center through a rectangle bead.

Bend wire ends up the sides of the rectangle. At top of rectangle, now bend wires inward, forming a triangle where the wires cross.

Bend one of the wires straight up.

  2. Wrap the bent wire around the straightened wire two or three times. Then bend the wrap wire downward over the front side of the rectangle stone. Trim the end 1/2 inch below the rectangle stone.

Slide the larger round bead on this wire end, then roll the remaining wire end into a spiral or rosette to support the bead and rest in front of, or above, the rectangle stone. The round bead represents a star or moon in the night sky, while the spiral on the rectangle stone represents a reflection on the water, or as faint light in the sky.

Add the smaller bead to the other wire, which is still bent straight up from the stone. Finish this end with a wrapped loop, and add ear wires.

You can make your own variations and story. Perhaps a turquoise sky with a bright yellow sun bead...
