Moonstone Necklace Pendant

The first step is to design around the stones and decide on their placement.
Make bezels for each stone you plan to use. You can make your own tube settings, but it can be very fiddly. Snap sets allow more light in, which creates more sparkle.

Solder each bezel and tube setting onto 22 gauge sheet. Trim away the excess metal, leaving a narrow edge of the backplate showing. File and refine all edges.
After the bezels are prepared, decide where the moonstone cabochon will sit. A long pendant that slides onto a chain would also be a beautiful option.
Position each finished component on another piece of 22 gauge sheet, following your original design layout.
Tip: The second layer of metal is not just decorative. The lip around the base of the bezels separates the stones just enough to make setting them easier.
Solder all pieces in place on the second 22 gauge backing.
Drill a hole through the backplate inside each tube setting to let more light through.
Cut away the excess metal around the pendant focal, leaving a slightly wider edge than the first layer. File and refine the edges.
After making the neck chain, solder two links to the back of the pendant to attach the chain. Placement of the links will depend on the pendant shape.
