Color Inspiration - Lake Minnetonka Sunset Necklace

I LOVE sunsets! I've been fortunate enough to see them from Hawaii to the Caribbean and they're all different yet completely satisfyingly inspirational. Many are sunrise folks but sunrises seem to occur a bit too early for moi' so I'm good with sunsets. The individual colors of a sunset are always a surprise to me once you break them down. That's why it's such a great exercise for any designer to do so.
For example, if I were to make a piece of jewelry inspired by this image alone, it would have focused on golds and oranges but I took that image and ran it through a color pallet program. These programs are free and really dissect the image colors thoroughly. So, you can see from this color pallet there were other shades I might have ignored. This is a great way to train your eye to see overall images in a different way.

This image is my beloved Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota where I grew up. It was a magical place and I treasure my time there. Living on that lake most of my childhood, surrounded by quintessential Midwestern beauty affected my artistic aesthetic a great deal. Thank goodness! This fun and simple project combines gemstones and wire. I love using Venus Jasper beads with blue wire but you can use any 6mm or 8mm beads for this project.
