Using Abrasive Wheels as Hand Tools
Abrasive wheels are made for using with micro and pendant motors, but these little tools can also be used without power, as hand tools.
Instructions
They come as mounted and unmounted wheels in different shapes and grits. The mounted abrasives are the ones that come already attached to a thin steel mandrel. These can be used in a pin vise or simply twirled between your fingers.
They can get into tight spots and don't collapse like pieces of sandpaper. They're particularly good for fragile pieces and pieces with angular edges.
Using these tools in a power motor can risk rounding the corners of angular shapes. Using them in the hand slows down the process and can protect your crisp designs.

The unmounted abrasives are the discs that you can attach to a mandrel. I find these are excellent just held between two fingers.
