Think Ahead Wire Measuring
by Judy Freyer Thompson
I don't always think ahead when an idea pops in my head to make a new link or jump ring, etc.
I have learned that taking a minute to measure and mark increments on the wire you are going to use is helpful. This will allow you to know how much wire you will need for a particular component; as well be able to pre-cut pieces prior to forming.
Instructions
Working with a length of wire or straight off a spool, lay the wire on ruler and secure with tape. This ensures you've straightened the wire and are getting the proper measurement.

Using the permanent marker, make a dot at ½" intervals on the wire. Do this for each piece of wire your design calls for and you'll have them at the ready.
Grab your pliers and design a new component!
