Storing Your Metal Stamps
Keep your many metal stamps neatly tucked away and easy to access.

Tip # 1: Try to store stamps in a dry environment because many of them can rust. Unfortunately, I don't have that luxury, but I do run a dehumidifier in my workroom.
Throwing a bunch of saved silica gel desiccant packets in the stamp drawer will help tremendously but they will have to be periodically replaced.

Tip #2: Storage can be found in the most unlikely of places. The stamps you see in the antique sewing machine drawer in my 33 drawer cabinet are the only stamps I own.

Tip 3: We don't often stamp words and then cut out the desired shape. It is usually the other way around. It can be difficult to determine the size of stamp to use to fit in a small area when looking at each stamping face.
Stamp each size and style of letter stamp you own along with their corresponding size on a piece of 22-gauge copper sheet. This size guide should be stored with the stamps and will make it easier to determine which size stamp to use for your projects.
