Storing Handmade Elements

by Judy Larson
Writing fabrication notes right on your storage bags helps you remember your own tips, plus helps with consistency.
Instructions
There are many things we make over and over-head pins, ear wires, jump rings, embellishments, etc. Every time we want to replicate a particular item, we probably don't remember all the details-wire gauge, length, mandrel size, specific tool, etc. Rather than constantly looking up the information needed, store the often-made items in small, resealable clear bags. Adding notes to the bags with the necessary replication information on them is a time saver. A quick look at the notes is most often all that is needed to make more of a particular item.

Use an ultra fine point retractable Sharpie to write on all the bags. However, since Sharpie ink can wear off over time, another option is to write the information on a slip of paper. Put the paper in the bag facing backward with all the hand-made pieces in front of it.
