Sawing Tips
Are you new to sawing? Or thinking of adding this skill to your jewelry making repertoire? Here are a couple of tips to get you going in the right direction.
Instructions
First, your grip on your saw frame should be relaxed and easy. This grip allows you smooth and easy motions for sawing. If you are all tensed up, it will translate to your metal.
Second, make sure you are using the correct size of saw blade for the metal you are sawing. I like to put a piece of sticky note on my saw frame to remind myself what size of blade is currently in my frame. Then, if you get up and walk away, you'll have an easy reference.
Third, it doesn't matter what direction you saw in. I thought I had to go counter-clockwise. My sawing was not going well. I tried going clockwise and BOOM! Success. Wow. Such a little thing and it made all the difference. I think it had to do with my prescription but at least I figured it out.
