Saving a Broken Solder Brick

by Judy Larson
Don't throw away your solder bricks when they break!
Instructions
My magnesia and charcoal soldering blocks receive heavy use and break often. I don't like working on small soldering surfaces and it is wasteful to throw the broken pieces away. Tightly wrapping stainless steel binding wire several times around the pieces to connect them together, then twisting the wire ends, saves them and saves me money.
Giving the wires a half twist on one or more sides will tighten the wire, holding the broken block together even better.
