Pro Polish Pad

I truly love the ease of use with Pro Polish Pads. However, they are not always the right shape or size. I've wished many times that they come in different shapes or on a mandrel. It would make polishing tight spaces really helpful.

While making a pendant with such tight spaces and frustrated with the flex shaft attachments for polishing that I have and nothing was working quite right.... I decided to try a thing.

The thing was making a pro polish pad polishing attachment for my flex shaft, this would work with a Dremel as well.
Instructions
I started by cutting a pro polish pad in half

I also dug out a split mandrel out of the bin

The polishing pad does not fit on the split mandrel. I tried to flatten the pad to get it to fit, nope. The next step was widening the split mandrel. Not going to lie, I was worried it would break

I used fine nose tweezers to widen the jaw just enough to get the pad inserted

For use, insert mandrel in your flex shaft. Allow enough polish pad on the edge so it protects your metal from the steel of the mandrel. Foot on the pedal, slowly roll up the polish pad.

There, it's ready to use. I've also used micro polishing paper, cut into strips, with the split mandrel to get a good polish on metal as well.

I think next, I will be cutting circles and adding them to a screw top mandrel and see how that works.

I'm always excited to figure out a different way to use the items I already have, without buying new stuff. Although, to be honest, buying the new stuff is super fun, too!
