Marking Your Pliers

by Albina Manning
In a classroom full of students and shared workspaces, it's surprisingly easy for tools to get mixed up-especially when many of them look nearly identical.

Whether you're teaching, learning, or simply crafting alongside others, marking your tools is a simple way to protect your investment and avoid confusion.

Here's a smart tip to help you keep your tools clearly-and stylishly-labeled.
Instructions
If you take jewelry-making classes, bead with friends, or teach others, it's easy to accidentally grab someone else's tools-especially since many pliers, like crimping pliers, tend to look alike.

To avoid the mix-up, here's what Albina does: she marks all of her pliers with flat-back crystal rhinestones.

You can also use sequins, tiny buttons, or other decorative accents to easily identify your tools at a glance.

How to attach Rhinestones:

  • Clean the surface of your pliers from grease and dirt. Put a tiny drop of Jewelry & Metal Glue or Super Glue and add a rhinestone or crystal.

  • You can use adhesive backed crystals too (you find them in scrap-booking department).

  • Also, you can use paint to mark your pliers. Just do not paint handles.
