Making Perfect Simple Loops

When you're making bead links, or dangles, the first side is easy.

Just slip your bead on your eye pin or head pin and the bead sits flush against the end. But how do you make a perfect simple loop on the other side, and get it to match if you're making a link?

Here's a foolproof way to get your loops snugly against the other side of the bead.
Instructions
Slip on your bead and trim the wire to about an inch.

Grasp the very end of the wire in the jaws of the round-nose pliers at the point matching your desired loop size.

You shouldn't be able to feel the wire extending beyond the jaws with your finger.

Start rolling the pliers to form a loop.

If the loop doesn't sit snugly against the bead when complete, keep rolling the pliers to coil the wire.

Continue coiling until the wire coil sits tightly against the bead.

Carefully trim off excess loops so only one loop remains sitting snugly against the bead.

If you're matching a loop on the other side, to create a link, measure the first loop by slipping it onto your round-nose pliers.

Take a Sharpie and make a mark on the jaw where the loop sits.

Then create the other side loop at that mark.
