With the round nose pliers and pull the length around the jaw with your other hand, holding the pliers steady. You may find it easier to hold the wire towards the end of the length and pull it around the jaw of the pliers.

Alternatively you can hold the wire in your less dominant hand, with your thumb positioned against the wire, level with the jaw of the pliers, grasping the wire with the rest of your hand, using the pliers as an anchor, guide the wire around the jaw.
Pro Tip: This is very thick wire and therefore harder to manipulate. Always be mindful of the position of your hands and wrists. Do not over stretch, as this will cause strain and injury, instead reposition your pliers where possible. Shape the length of wire with your hand, using the pliers as anchorage, rather than turning the pliers to shape.
