Making Lightweight Earrings with Unexpected Finds

by Judy Larson
Sometimes you come across something that screams "make jewelry with me" so, of course, it comes home with you! That was the case when I was perusing things at a $1.00 store, which is now $1.25 store, looking for little extras to add to a box to send to our young grandchildren.
Instructions
I came across laser cut pressed cardboard scrapbook embellishments that stopped me in my tracks. It was harder to decide on which of these to bring home than it was to pick out stuff for the grandkids!

A lot of women like to wear larger earrings. Large can mean heavier so options are limited because weight can pull on the piercings, enlarging them over time. Large can also mean time consuming as well as expensive to make. Since I make all my own Argentium ear wires, the cost of using them is minimal. Add in the 45 cent laser cut embellishments (remember to add any tax you paid when figuring the cost of making something) and the investment is under $4 per pair, depending upon the size of how much wire was used to make the ear wires. These light-as-a-feather earrings are sure to be a hit!
