Keeping Your Base Wires Together

by Elizabeth Schultz
When you're first starting out, you may not have a clamp on hand or even painter's tape. So, how do you hold all your wires together?
Instructions
Here's a method I learned early on to help weave a bundle of wires together-it's called "wire stacking."

Start with the initial base wire and wrap the weaving wire around it three times to secure it.

Then, add the next base wire according to your pattern and continue stacking wires until all are in place.

I'm demonstrating this with a triangle/zigzag weave.

Once the wires are stacked, the weaving process becomes much easier.

This method also bundles your wires neatly without risking damage or sticky residue from tape.
