Keeping Warp or Base Wires Separate

by Abby Hook
Weaving wire can result and a very tight tension, making continuing difficult. Here's a tips for keeping those base wires separate.
Instructions
When weaving structure wires together, the wires can sometimes get too close, making it hard to pass the weaving wire through.

To fix this, push a pin between the structure wires to gently open a gap.

This reduces tension on the weaving wire, so you don't have to pull as tightly minimizing the risk of breakage.

If your weaving wire snaps, don't panic.

Unwind it back to the last full coil on the structure wire and leave a short tail.

Attach a new piece of weaving wire by locking it into place against that last coil. Leave a small tail on the new wire as well.

Continue weaving, and once you've finished, trim both tails neatly on the back of the piece.
