Keeping Warp or Base Wires Separate

by Abby Hook
Weaving wire can result and a very tight tension, making continuing difficult. Here's a tips for keeping those base wires separate.
Instructions
When weaving structure wires together, if the wires have become too close together, making it difficult to pass the weaving wire between them, push a pin through, opening the gap between the structure wires. This reduces the stress on the weaving wire as you do not need to pull so tightly, reducing the risk of breakage.

If you snap the weaving wire - don't panic! Take the weaving wire back to the last coils on the structure wire, un coil, so that there is only 1 coil, leave a tail. Attach the new wire, locking it into place against the existing coil, leave a tail to hold onto. Continue weaving and trim the tails on the back of the piece once the weave is complete.
