How to Take Photos without a Light Box.
Many of my customers ask me how to take the correct picture of copper jewelry. I tested several options which I would like to show you now.
Instructions
Here are some options using both indoor and outdoor natural light. You can see from my photos, which works best.
Indoor picture. In my opinion the jewelry does not show the details enough. Copper may be reddish and too dark. This option is not working for me.
Outdoor, full sun. I find this option too much. Copper shines, and under the full sun makes shadows, detracting from the jewelry itself and the details in it.
Outdoor, full shade. Like before (option 1), I find this option too dark to showcase the details of a jewelry
Outdoor, partial shade. For me this is the winner. I love to take pictures under a tree, letting some sunlight get in the picture (not too much) and still staying in the shade. The sun is always behind me. I find this option the perfect way to showcase each detail on a piece of jewelry, and to reflect the beautiful color of the copper.
