Do a Facebook Collaboration
by Judy Larson
We all have slumps in creativity and climbing out seems to be impossible at times. Decisions are hard to make so we just set projects aside. Head to your Facebook Friends for direction.

During the first year of Covid, I did several Facebook Collaboration projects. At each step of the way on the projects where decisions had to be made, I asked for input and took direction from the majority vote. It was great fun for me, and each time someone commented/voted, they were entered in a drawing for the final piece. It was a WIN WIN for both sides!

A by-product of doing a Facebook Collaboration is while having fun, you are finding out what the majority of people like, making it easier for you to create for a target audience. And, your creativity is given a boost.
Instructions
The following is how I went about one of my Collaboration Projects. I could have started with choosing a stone, then with or without embellishment, and on to what the embellishments should be, but I already knew I wanted to use a pine tree as there are so many where I found the lake rock.
First question - All silver or mixed metals? Sketch a rough design, make a copy, and color one in.

Second question - Twisted wire or ball chain around the bezel? Use what you have in your stash without paying attention to your likes or dislikes since you aren't making the decisions.

Third question - Texture or plain background? Or show texture hammer heads, and not a texture, and have your friends choose

Fourth question - Bright or patina? Everyone will probably go for patina.
