Selecting the correct saw blade size is key to successful sawing.
Saw blades vary by tooth size and teeth per inch, ranging from the finest (#8/0) to coarser, larger blades (#1, #2, and beyond).
Finer blades cut more slowly but are easier to control. Coarser blades cut faster but remove more material.
A good rule is to choose a blade with at least two teeth for the thickness of the metal.
Using a coarser blade with too few teeth can cause binding and make sawing difficult.
