Instructions
Step 1
Cut two 6" pieces of 18-gauge wire Create a small spiral at the end of one of the 18-gauge wires with your round-nose pliers.

Step 2
Measure 1" from the bottom of the swirl.

At the 1" mark, bend the wire backward and compress the wire with your pliers.

Step 4
Pull the wires part while holding the tip with your pliers.

Carefully create a curve in the wire with your thumb.

Do the same on the other side.

Bend the wire with your pliers underneath the swirl and trace the wire next to the outside of the frame towards the bottom of the leaf.

Step 8
Just above the tip of the leaf, bend the wire upward and compress the wire with your pliers.

Step 9
Gently curve the wire towards the top swirl.

Trim off the excess wire around 1/4" below the swirl.

Pull the wire forward and lightly hammer the center wire.

File the hammered end until it is rounded and smooth.

Next, hammer the side of the leaf with the single wire and the top swirl.

(Optional) Use 1000 grit sandpaper to remove hammer and tool marks.

To begin the weave, wrap the 28-gauge weaving wire around the outer frame 5 times.

Then wrap the weaving wire around both the outer and inner wires 2 times.

Repeat steps 14 & 15 until you reach the top of the leaf.

Step 17
Finish the weave by wrapping the weaving wire around the outer frame 5 times.

Cut off the excess.

Repeat steps 1-17, mirroring the first to create the second earring.
