This ring can be custom sized. Be sure to start with measuring the size you need with a small piece of wire. That wire will be used later as the length needed for your custom ring.

Instructions

Step 1

Before starting to make the ring, we have to measure the length of the ring circumference we wish to make.

For this you can use a ring mandrel or a wooden dowel.

Wrap your weaving wire once around the ring size you wish to make.

Step 2

Cut off the weaving wire, then separate it from the mandrel or wooden dowel.

Step 3

Straighten the wire. We'll use this thin weaving wire to measure the final length of the ring.

Step 4

Now cut a 12 inches (30 cm) base wire of the 21 ga (0.7 mm) wire.

Bend it in half, as shown on this picture.

Step 5

Squeeze the bend with the chain nose pliers, until it is completely closed.

Step 6

Hold the bent end tight within the chain nose pliers, then bend the wire ends to the sides, making a V shape with them, as shown on this picture.

Step 7

On the right side, measure 1cm on the wire end.

At this point hold it within the round nose pliers, close to the ends of the pliers, as shown here.

Step 8

With the help of the round nose pliers, bend the wire end inwards, then bend it completely downwards, taking it on the back side of the wire structure, as shown here.

We have to make a half heart shape with this wire end, approximately 0.8 cm tall.

Step 9

This is the result we must get.

Step 10

NOW we have to exactly the same steps on the left side as well, as shown here and on the next picture.

Step 11

This is the result we must get.

Make sure that both wire ends are positioned on the back side.

The heart is approximately 0.8 cm tall.

Step 12

At the point where these 2 wire ends meet each other, hold them tight within the chain nose pliers.

Step 13

Bend the wire ends 90 degrees backwards.

This is the result we must get from the top view.

Step 15

Take a 2 inches (5 cm) long weaving wire of the 28ga (0.3 mm) wire.

Wrap it 3 times around both wire ends, close to the recently point, as shown here.

Step 16

Cut off weaving wire ends, then pressure them with the chain nose pliers, until they are completely closed.

Make sure that the weaving wire ends are closed, otherwise the ring band can hurt your finger.

Step 17

Switch to front view. Bend both wire ends completely upwards, as tight as you cant.

If necessary you can squeeze the bent part with the chain nose pliers, making it flat.

Step 18

Now again, bend the wire ends to the sides, making a V shape with them, as shown here.

Step 19

Repeat the same bending steps as we did to make a second heart shape.

Make sure to position the wire ends to the back side.

Step 20

Now repeat the same weaving and steps, as we did before, to finish the second heart shape.

Step 21

Follow this technique, until the length of the hearts is the same as the length as the wire you measured as your ring circumference.

Step 22

Position the center of the hearts over the ring mandrel or wooden dowel.

Now bend both ends of the hearts all around the mandrel or wooden dowel.

Step 24

Separate the wire structure from the ring mandrel or wooden dowel.

Leave a 0.5 cm long end on both base wires, cut off the extra wire ends.

Step 25

Using round nose pliers, bend both wire ends outwards, making an loop with them, as shown on this picture.

Step 26

Insert these open loops inside the shape of the first heart of the ring, as shown here.

With the help of the pliers, pressure the open loops around the two sides of the bottom of the first heart until they are completely closed.

Your beautiful ring is ready.
