Measure 2" from the end of the wire and make a 90 degree bend, using the flat nose pliers.

Measure ¾" from the first bend and make another 90 degree bend, forming an 'n' shape

Measure ¾" from the second bend and make a third 90 degree bend, you now have the first square.

At the point where the two wires cross, make another 90 degree bend.

Check the stone bead fits inside the inner square; there should be plenty of space. Set the stone aside.

Cut a piece of 28 gauge wire 10" long. Attach it to the right hand side of the frame, leaving a 1" tail (use this to hold the wire in place). Coil the 2 thick wires 3 times.

Continue to coil, pushing the coils tight together with your thumb nail every 4 - 6 turns, until you reach the next bend in the small square.Notice how the inner square sits inside the outer one.

Coil the thin wire to the outer thick wire 3 times to secure. Trim both tails of the thin wire and tuck in with the long nose pliers.

Turn the frame over. Cut a piece of 28 gauge wire 16" long. Attach this to the frame by coiling the 2 thick wires 3 times, leaving a 1" tail.

Keep coiling the 2 thick wires until you are half way along the inside square.

Attach the stone. Hold the stone inside the inner square and thread the thin wire through it.

Coil the outer thick wire 3 times, trim both tails of the thin wire and tuck in the ends with the long nose pliers. Notice how the bead is still able to turn.

Using the flat nose pliers, make another 90 degree bend, using the width of the nose of the pliers to measure the space.

Using the width of the end of the flat nose pliers to measure the gap make another 90 degree bend.

Thread the thin wire behind the coiled thick wires and through the small square at the back, back round to the front and through to the back again.

Continue in this manner, pulling the thin wire tightly so that it 'locks' into the coiling on the thick wires.

Coil, enclosing the 2 outer wires from the small squares and the coiled thick wire, making sure that the thin wire 'locks' into the coils until you reach the point (approx 8 to 12 turns).

Pro Tip: Make sure you enclose the trimmed ends of the small squares.

Continue coiling over the point and down the other side of the square until you reach the corner (approx 8 - 12 turns).

Cut a piece of 20 gauge wire 7" long. Make a loop in the center.

Now for the fun part where you begin to connect the bracelet together. Lay the squares out in the same way as shown in the picture. The squares will be connected in two ways.

The first way is a simple coil. Cut a piece of 26 gauge wire 3" long. Take the square with the clasp attached and the one next to it and coil the wire in the centre 5 times, leaving a 1" tail.
The trick is to pull the wire tightly enough so that it 'locks' into the coiled thick wires, but not so tight that the squares don't move. Also make sure the coils are neat and close together in the center.

Trim the ends and tuck in, flatten the coils slightly with the long nose pliers so that the wire 'locks' into the coiled wire on the squares, this will stop the 'hinge' from slipping.

This time you will attach the square with a longer coil. Cut a piece of 26 gauge wire 10 " long. Attach it to the 2 thick wires from the squares by leaving a 1" tail to hold onto and loop around both wires.

Coil 22 times keeping the coils close together. Do not pull the wire too tightly so that the squares can still move but so that they are held firmly together.
