Spirals are a common shape found in nature. Snail shells, sunflowers, storms, all have a common bond. Perhaps because of their prevalence in the natural world, and the spiritual attachment humans have to nature, we have a mysterious wonderment as to what they all mean. This double spiral pattern is a fun medallion to create. Made with wire spirals and African green glass beads fashioned at both ends with faux bead caps.
The bracelet measures 7.5 inches long.

Instructions
Step 1:
Making the Spirals
Cut one length of 18 gauge round wire to 8 inches. Bend the length in half by placing the tips of the round nose pliers in the middle. Use the nylon jaw pliers pull the two wires straight.
Pro Tip: As you pull the wires up to straighten, hold the bend, and pull slightly out, and away from the center to counteract the curve of the wire from the spool.

Step 2
Use nylon jaw pliers to press the wires together, so that they do not over lap each other.

Step 3
Use the ends of the round nose pliers to curl the double end into a curve. This will start the beginning of the spiral.

Step 4
Hold the hook end with the flat nose pliers to curl the double wire into a tight spiral shape until you are left with 1/2 inch of wire on the outside piece of wire.

Step 6:
Making the Spiral Bead Caps
Cut one length of wire into one 8 inch length piece for each bead used. The beads I used for this project are 8mm in diameter.

Step 7
Use the flat nose pliers to bend the wire at each end of the bead into a 90 degree angle.

Step 8
Make a wire wrapped loop at one end. Continue to wrap the wire around the loop stem to make a mound of wire. Or, wrap the wire close together around the top of the bead to make a cap. Use the flat nose pliers to tuck in the end of the wire. Repeat this step for the other end of the bead.
You may wish to work both ends of the bead a few steps at a time. Securing the tension of each end of the loops first, then winding the wire around the tops to complete.
