Instructions
Step 1
Cut two 6 1/8 segments of 20 gauge silver plated half hard wire. Use fingers to straighten wire.

Mark one wire 1/2 from end with a non-permanent marker.

Grasp both wires in flat nose pliers just behind the mark.

Keep wire ends flush and bend at the mark as shown in the photo.

Mark one wire 1/2 from the bend with a non-permanent marker.

Grasp both wires in flat nose pliers just behind the mark and bend to angle shown in photo.

Mark one wire 1/2 from the bend as before.

Grasp both wires in flat nose pliers and bend as shown in the photo.

Mark one wire 1/2 from the bend as before.

Grasp both wires and bend as before, this forms your first star point.

Mark one wire ½" from the bend as before.

Mark the wire as before and bend both wires to form your second star point as shown in the photo.

Repeat the process, moving 1/2 from the last bend to form the next bend with your flat nose pliers.

Repeat the process, moving 1/2 from the last bend to form your third star point as shown in the photo.

Mark one wire as you did before, bend both wires as shown in the photo.

Mark one wire as before, bend both wires to form the fourth and final star point as shown in the photo

Move down to the end of the wire and use your chain-nose pliers to bend the tip into a 90-degree angle, turning it sideways as shown in the photo.

Grasp one end of the bent wire with the tip of your round-nose pliers and form a loop as shown in the photo.

Repeat steps Sixteen and Seventeen for the second star.

Step 18
Place one of the stars on your bench block and hammer one side flat. Then add texture with the ball end of your chasing hammer.

Repeat this for the second star, hammering the opposite side to create a left and right earring.

Use flat-nose pliers to make any final adjustments.

Use a file or sandpaper to smooth the wire ends so they are comfortable going into the ear.
