Seneca Alliance, Ohio 44601 (330)821-3180 CheryStraitArtisanJewelry@gmail.com www.CherylStrait.com www.CherylStrait.wordpress.com Cheryl Strait learned her skills from a myriad of people and places, working with jewelers from across the Country, including The Baum school of Art in Allentown, Pa., Cleveland State University, Suburban Fine Art Center, Illinois and V rock shop in Canton, Ohio. She lives in Alliance, Ohio where she has conducted business as a Metalsmith and continues to design and fabricate her work in her private studio, for over 20 years. Artist Statement: My one of a kind and limited production jewelry creatively makes use of found objects gemstones and metals.” I enjoy using found objects, often not thought of as jewelry materials. My work is not cast or machine made and often described as organic, unconventional Art Jewelry. Using the process of hand fabrication and very basic hand-tools, combining, Sterling- Silver, Gold, Copper, Brass, found objects and gemstones. Each piece is made by hand using sawing, filing, sanding, hammering, soldering and hand-stamping techniques. I enjoy exploring Nature, Emotions and the Human Spirit, these themes often find their way into my Collage art. My Work has been published in several magazines and books including "Artist trading Cards an Anthology of ATC's , and "Visual Poetry " and Belle Armoire Jewelry. My work is sold mainly through Fine Art /Craft shows, Museums , Select Events and online in my etsy boutiques.
