This pattern is for a pear shaped cab, but you could easily alter it to accommodate other shapes.

Instructions

Step 1:

Prepare the Base Wire

Cut a 16-inch (40 cm) long base wire of the 18ga (1 mm) wire using a wire cutter. Bend it in half as shown in this picture.

Step 2:

Cut Weaving Wires

Using a precision wire cutter, cut five 16-inch (40 cm) weaving wires of the 26ga (0.4 mm) wire.

Step 3:

Align Weaving Wires

Hold these five weaving wires together, making sure the ends are aligned. A weaving wire holder can help keep them in place.

Step 4:

Position Weaving Wires

At a 0.5 cm distance from the bent center of the base wire, position the center of the weaving wires behind the 2 base wire ends.

Step 5:

Separate the Left Upper Weaving Wire

We have 5 upper and 5 lower weaving wire ends. Separate the top left weaving wire end from the other ones.

Step 6:

Bend Top Left Weaving Wire

Bend the top left weaving wire downwards, over the upper base wire and taking it behind the lower base wire.

Step 7:

Position Top Left Wire

Now position this recently bent weaving wire close to the 5 lower weaving wire ends.

Step 8:

Separate Lower Left Weaving Wire

Separate the lower left weaving wire end from the other ones.

Step 9:

Bend Lower Left Weaving Wire

Bend the lower left weaving wire upwards, over the lower base wire and taking it behind the upper base wire.

Step 10:

Repeat with Remaining Wires

Now again separate the top left weaving wire end from the other ones

Step 11

Bend the top left weaving wire downwards, over the upper base wire and taking it behind the lower base wire.

Step 12

Now again separate the lower left weaving wire end from the other ones.

Step 13

Bend the lower left weaving wire upwards, over the lower base wire and taking it behind the upper base wire.

Step 14:

Continue Weaving

Repeat exactly the same steps with the other 3 upper and 3 lower weaving wire ends.

Step 15

Follow the same weaving steps, paying attention to keep the distance between the upper and the lower base wire.

Step 16:

Weave to Stone Length

Continue to weave until the woven part is 2 times as long as your stone.

Step 17:

Switch to Back View

Switch to back view of the woven part. You can use the front or the back of this weave, I like the back more.

Step 18:

Bend to Shape

Bend the woven part to follow the shape of your stone.

Step 19:

Position Over Stone

Position the initial end of the woven part over the top end of your stone. Bend the woven part all over the stone circumference.

Step 20:

Make Additional Rotations

If necessary, make a few more rotations of this weave, until you arrive close to the top of the stone on the right side.

Step 21:

Wrap Left Lower Weaving Wire

Take the left lower weaving wire end, make 1 rotation of this weave then wrap it once around the upper base wire. Cut off the extra end of it.

Step 22:

Wrap Left Upper Weaving Wire

Take the left upper weaving wire end, make1 rotation of this weave then wrap it once around the lower base wire. Cut off the extra end of it.

Step 23:

Repeat with Reaming Wires

Repeat the same steps with the other 4 upper and 4 lower weaving wire ends.

Step 24:

Position Woven Part

Switch to front view of the weave. Position the 2 ends of the woven part closer, then bend both base wire ends upwards.

Step 25:

Insert Base Wires

Bend both base wire ends in a way that you can insert them into the small space on the left end of the weave, taking them from the back to the front.

Step 26:

Cut Extra Wire Ends

Pull the base wires completely to the front until the 2 ends of the weave meet, then bend them upwards.

Step 27:

Prepare Weaving Wire

Cut a 24 inches (60 cm) long weaving wire, position the initial end of it close to the top of the woven part, behind the 2 base wires.

Step 28:

Coil Weaving Wire

Start to coil the weaving wire around both base wires as tight as you can.

Step 29:

Continue Coiling

Coil the weaving wire around the base wires until the coiled part is as long as your stone.

Step 30:

Bend to Form Bail

Bend the coiled part in half, bending it to the front, exactly in the same way as shown on this picture. This will be the bail of the pendant.

Step 31:

Bend Base Wires

Now bend the base wires to the sides of the weave, as shown here.

Step 32:

Wrap Right Base Wire End

Wrap the weaving wire 2 times around the right base wire end.

Step 33

Now wrap it 2 times around the left base wire end.

Step 34:

Continue Weaving

Follow the same weave until you arrive close to the inner side of the woven part.

Step 35:

Trim Extra Weaving Wire

At this point cut off the extra weaving wire end.

Step 36:

Bend Base Wires Backware

Now bend both base wire ends exactly in the same way as shown on this picture, bending them backwards.

Step 37:

Position the Stone

Switch to back view. Position the stone inside the wire structure, making sure that the back of the stone is facing you.

Step 38:

Cross Base Wire

Cross the base wires over each other, so they will hold the back of the stone.

Step 39:

Cut Extra Base Wire

Leave the base wires 0.5 cm longer than the wire structure, cut off the extra wire ends.

Step 40

With the help of the round nose pliers, bend the extra base wire ends inwards, making a closed loop with them, as shown here and on the next picture.

Step 41

Use a short length of the 26 gauge wire to lash the two loops to the woven bail.

Step 42

Your Peace Drop Pendant is complete!
