Instructions
Step 1
Begin with the round nose pliers and 14 inch piece of 22 gauge wire.
● Start at the end of the 22 gauge wire with the round nose pliers.
● Gently create an open spiral.
● Use the steel block and chasing hammer to flatten the spiral on both sides.

Step 2
Add the first labradorite facet to the 22 gauge wire.
● Push the bead close to the hammered spiral.
● Thread the 22 gauge wire through the bead hole.
● Bring the free end of the wrapping wire around the front of the pearl, below the spiral & bead.

Step 3
Braiding the pearl.
● Half bend the free end of the wire around the spiral post, toward the back of the pearl.
● Wrap the free end around the back side, threading the end through the half-bend that you just made on the front.
● Create another half bend through the first one and wrap around the back.

Repeat step three until you've reached about ¼ inch from the top of the bead OR to the last indentation in the
bead.
Pro Tip: Beads and stones with surface texture will hold more naturally in this wrap, so use the texture for the best grip.

Step 5
On your last round, you want the wrapping wire to end in the back.
● Make a loose loop, like a halo over the top of the bead.
● Hold the halo in place and continue to the front with the wrapping wire.
● Thread the wrapping wire through the top loop on the front & wrap again to the back.

Step 6
Bend the halo loop out away from the bead to about 90 degrees.
● Gently grip the halo loop between your thumb and forefinger.
● Twist the halo loop tightly, twice, to create a post.
● Use you steel block and chasing hammer to flatten and work harden the halo loop.

Step 7
Return the halo to its upright position behind the top of the bead.
● Wrap the weaving wire around the halo post, twice.
Pro Tip: My images only show one wrap around the post. Two is better for security.

Step 8
Wrap the weaving wire around to the front, again.
● Thread the weaving wire through the top loop.
● Trim the weaving wire to about ¾ of an inch.
● Add a 2nd labradorite facet to the weaving wire.
● Use the round nose pliers to make a small spiral with the tail of the weaving wire.
● Center the weaving final bead and spiral at the top of the bead.
Pro Tip: Make any needed adjustments to the loops and shape of the square wire so that it sits flush on top of the flat wire shape.
