I love making these easy wire wrapped bead rings! So simple that even a beginner can
make them, and I can get really creative with all my leftover gemstone beads. You can use anything as a focal point for these rings - even things like drilled quartz points or carved gemstone beads. Once you get the basics down, you'll want to play with all kinds of variations!
My mother gave me my ring mandrel as a gift more than a decade ago when I was
using it to shape soft glass rings in a torch. Little did I know that it would come in so
handy I decided to indulge in my love for making wire jewelry.

Instructions
Step 1
Center the bead on the wire and place the wire on the mandrel in front of the size ring you wish to make. Wrap the wire tightly around the mandrel. As you wrap the wire, keep the wire to your left on top and the wire to your right on the bottom.

Step 2
Once you bring the wires back around to the front, start to spiral them around the bead. The wire on the left goes over the top of the bead to the right, and the wire on the right goes under the bottom of the bead to the left. Wrap the wires around the bead a few times until you like the shape of the spiral nest under the bead.

Step 3
Take one of the wire ends and start to wrap it around the shank of the ring. I like to make 3-4 wraps before trimming the wire and gently pressing the end in with a chain nose pliers. Repeat on the other side.
