Instructions

Step 1

Cut the 20-gauge wire into six 6" pieces. Wrap the 26-gauge wire 3 times around one of the 20-gauge wires about 2 ½ inches from the end (the weave going away from the 2 ½ inches).

Step 2

Place another 20-gauge wire next to the first wire and wrap the weaving wire (26-gauge wire) around both wires once.

Step 3

Next place a 3rd 20-gauge wire right next to the last one added and wrap the weaving wire around all the wires once.

Step 4

Next wrap the weaving wire around the first two wires once then around the original wire 3 times.

Step 5

Repeat this pattern 7 times or until the weave is about ¾ inches long. End the pattern with 3 wraps around the 1st wire. Add 4 extra wraps to the original base wire (for a total of 7 wraps after the last wrap, going over 2 wires).

Step 6

Cut off the tail end of the wire at the beginning of the weave and smooth with pliers. Bend the wire original wire up at a 90-degree angle where the weave was started. Slip one of the 12mm puffy heart beads onto the bent wire.

Step 7

Bend the weave around one side of the heart bead, keeping the weave close to the bead when bending it. Make sure only the base wire wrapped every time is touching the bead.

Step 8

Bend the wire going thru the bead so it is in line with the rest of the base wires in the weave coming around the bead. Take the weaving wire and wrap the wire coming up thru the bead and the wire right next to it twice.

Step 9

Next wrap the 2nd and 3rd wires (counting base wires from the bead out) twice. Then wrap the 1st and 2nd wires (counting from the bead) twice. Continue this wrap for 1 ¼ inches. Bend the wire not in the weave (4th wire from the bead) up at a 90 degree angle right above where the other wire comes out of the bead.

Step 10

Put on one of the 14.5 mm heart beads, on the wire sticking up from the other wires. Cut off the weaving wire close and use pliers to smooth the end of the weaving wire down.

Step 11

Bend the weave around the bead, making sure just the edge of the weave is touching the bead and the rest of the weave is sticking out away from the bead.

Step 12

Bend the woven wires around the one wire sticking up from the bead. Try not to bend up the wire going thru the bead during this step.

Step 13

Cut off the ends of the base wires and crimp down around the wire going up thru the bead. Make a simple or wrapped loop right above where the woven wires.

Step 14

Bend the 2 wires on the bottom of the earring into a curve right under the bottom heart bead. Cut these wires about ½ to ¾ inch long from the bottom of the smaller heart bead.

Step 15

Gently hammer the 2 wires on the bottom of the earring into flat paddles. File to take off any sharp edges.

Step 16

Add an earring wire to the earring just finished and set aside.

Make the other earring. While bending the weaves around the 1st bead, be aware about making a mirror image to the first earring or if you want to make them the same. The first weave done is the same on the front and back. The 2nd weave the back and front are different, keep this in mind while making these earrings.
