With the air a little warmer, the earth bit more colorful, I thought a wire and bead necklace would look fresh on the neck. Springtime shades of crystal and glass - then add the romantic look of a double drop chain, lovely for day or night.

Instructions
Step 1
I used two 1 inch length faceted blue glass beads for the necklace focal point. I also used 2 round 10mm yellow glass beads, and 2 orange oval shaped cat eye beads. There are 38 linked beads on the outside chain, and 14 beads on the inside attached chain.

Arrange your bead pattern for the outside and inside chains. Cut 2 pieces of 1 3/4 inch length 20-gauge round wire.

Step 2
Make a wrapped loop on each of the focal beads using the 20-gauge wire. Alternatively, you could you headpins to make these drops.

Step 3
Finish the drops by curling the ends around a pair of round nose pliers. Trim any remaining wire.

Step 4
Use the wire cutters, and the 22-gauge round wire to cut 52 pieces of 1 1/4 inch wire. Thread them onto each bead.

Step 5
Make a simple loop on each end of each bead. Leave the second loop open a bit to hook it onto the end of each bead. Then close it securely using the round nose pliers.

Step 6
When all the beads are chained together in a pattern color you like, open the ends of each bead to attach to the drops, then the inside chain to the outside chain.

Open the jump rings on the clasp. Attach the jump rings to each end of the chain. Adjust the length as needed.

Run your fingers over the chain and use the flat-nose pliers to tuck in any outstanding wire. Use the wire cutters to cut off any sharp edges.
