Instructions
Step 1
Cut the chain to the size you would like your finished bracelet to be and attach on the findings for your clasp: attaching a jump ring to one end of the chain and a jump ring and clasp to the other end of the chain.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, cut the chain to the length for a bracelet
Step 2
Next cut a length of wire. For an 8-inch bracelet a length of approximately 12 inches will be required.

Using the round-nose pliers, create a wrapped loop to attach onto the first link of the chain. To make the wrapped loop, leave approximately one inch of of the tail end of the wire and bend it over the tip of the pliers.

As a small loop is required, position the wire over the small, tapered end of the pliers, away from the handle. Reposition the pliers so that the jaws of the pliers sit above and below the wire and bring the wire over to form a small loop around them that sits centrally at the top of the wire.

Step 3
Gently flick up the loop prior to securing it with a wrap, to attach on the chain from the last link.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, attach the wrapped loop to the bracelet last link
Step 4
Once the chain is slid into position, hold the loop with the pliers to close it back over and wrap around the tail end three times to secure the loop.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, secure the loop
Step 5
Trim off any excess wire and tuck in the tail end.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, trim the wire
Step 6
Thread on two of the spacer beads (suggested size 4mm) to the wire.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, slide on two beads
Step 7
When bringing the wire back through the chain, the link chosen will vary on the size of the beads and chain links used. The beads should be positioned so that the chain is not too taught and can slightly move and dangle underneath the beads.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, bring the wire through a subsequent link
Step 8
Bring the wire through a link further down the chain (Remember to accommodate for the wrapped loop so that the wire sits flat against the chain and that the chain covers the distance of the spacer beads before coming back through the link.)
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, bring the wire through another link in the chain
Step 9
Continue to straighten out the wire, before adding on the next cluster of beads- this time adding one 4mm spacer, one 6mm bead and another 4mm spacer, so that you have added on three beads onto this side.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, straighten out the wire before adding another cluster of beads
Step 10
Bring the wire back through a link in the chain so that the chain covers the distance of the three beads.

This will create waves through the chain with the beads alternating between the sides of the chain.

Bringing the wire back through links further down the chain will create more of a droop and dangle with the chain underneath the beads.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, bring the wire through a link bask the three beads.
Step 11
Alternating back to the other side, add on two spacer beads again so that the chain sits underneath the beads.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, alternate to the other side, adding on two spacer beads again
Step 12
Keep laying the bracelet down flat while continuing to add on this pattern of beads - three beads on one side, two spacer beads on the other, to ensure the links in the chain are straight and there is fluidity of movement in the chain.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, lay the bracelet flat to work
Step 13
Continue to add on the beads required to fill the length of the chain alternating between each side by bringing the wire through the chain links to surround the beads. Count the chain links used to fill each side of the beads, to create an even flow and continuous spacing throughout the bracelet.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, continue adding beads on either side of the chain
Step 14
All pairs of the spacer beads should be positioned on one side of the bracelet and the group of three beads on the other side.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, spacers should sit on one side, clusters of 3 beads on the other
Step 15
The wire and beads can be adjusted and manipulated into place if necessary.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, make necessary adjustments
Step 16
Add on the last beads needed to complete the chain length.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, add the last beads
Step 17
Bring the wire back through the last link of the chain underneath the jump ring.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, bring the wire back through the last link of the chain
Step 18
When you have reached the end of your chain, to secure the wire, instead of creating a wrapped loop to finish, bring the wire through the last link three times by bringing the tail end of the wire back through the same link each time.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, wrap the tail a few times through the same link to secure
Step 19
Keep the wraps neat by positioning them closely next to each other.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, keep the wraps neatly next to each other
Step 20
Cut off any excess wire close to the chain.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, trim excess wire
Step 21
Ensure that any sharp ends are tucked into the chain link.
Natalie Patten's Delicate Wire and Chain Bracelet - , Contemporary Wire Jewelry, Making Chain, Chain Making , Beads, tuck in any sharp ends
Step 22
Once the clasp is attached to the jump ring on the opposite end of the bracelet, it will form its shape.
