I've been a fan of the pattern wire for years and decided to create an unconventional way to use it. One inch pieces worked well for earrings but you could shorten or lengthen them easily. I hammered a little texture on the edges, brought out the pattern design with some patina and added a splash of sparkle with wire wrapped crystals. I played with the design idea of adding more crystals but didn't want to distract from the busy wire pattern. Explore your creative style and add other fun baubles such as pearls, seed beads and spacers.

Step 1
Using your wire cutters, cut a 1" piece of Daisy Chain Pattern Wire. Trim a tiny bit off of all four corners.

Step 2
Using your file, smooth out all four corners to round the edges.

Step 3
Hammer a texture into the edges by using your chasing hammer.

Step 4
Punch a hole in the top center.

Step 5
Dome the piece by placing it in the center of the dapping block impression it fits into best. Place your dapping punch on top of it and gently tap with a hammer a few times until you're satisfied with the arch.

Step 6
Patina the piece using liver of sulfur or by coloring over the pattern with a permanent black marker making sure to get the ink into all the deep crevices.

Step 7
Let the ink dry fully and then remove most of it by rubbing a polish pad over the top of the pattern.

Step 8
Create 3 crystal dangles by making a wrapped loop.

Step 9
Connect the pattern wire piece with the crystal dangles using a jump ring. Attach the ear wire to the same jump ring. Repeat for all steps for the other earring.
