Instructions
Step 1
I used 12 cushion cut citrine beads, 10mm x 10mm. 14 cushion cut carnelian beads,15mmx10mm. 10 oval cut amethyst beads, 10mm. One amethyst briolette center bead, 20mm x 15mm. This design will make a 28 inch necklace chain.

First gather the beads and lay them out on the mat. Begin to arrange the pattern of the beads on the mat, leading with the smaller beads near the back and around the curve of the neck.

Step 2
Making the links. Use the wire cutters to cut one 2 inch piece of wire for each bead link.
Use chain nose pliers to bend the wire to a 90 degree angle about 3/4 inch away from the end of the wire.
Make a loop with the round nose pliers at the top of the bend in the wire, forming a circle.
Hold the loop with a pair of chain nose pliers. Use another pair of chain nose pliers to wrap the end of the wire tightly around the wire neck. Make two loops around the stem, then cut off any remaining wire. Prevent a sharp edge from sticking out from the link by pressing the end firmly with chain nose pliers to flatten it into the bead link.

Step 3
Repeat this same process for the other end of the bead and wire. Make a loop, cut off any remaining wire.
Repeat this process for all the remaining beads.

Step 4
Count out as many open jump rings that will be needed to link the beads together. Open all the rings, and place them in-between each bead link.

Step 5
Starting at one end of the necklace, use one pair of chain nose pliers to hold the 6mm jump ring and one side of the clasp. Place the closed loop of the first bead link into the open jump ring along with the clasp. Using both pair of pliers, close the jump ring around both pieces.

Step 6
Continue to add each end of the bead links to the jump rings, closing each jump ring as you go along the strand.

Step 7
When you have finished the chain, the remaining 6 mm jump ring will connect the final chain link to the clasp. Holding one pair of pliers, place the last bead link and the clasp ring into the 6mm jump ring. Close the ring. Feel the chain link for any outstanding wires to trim and flatten as needed.
