This simple ring is a great way to get familiar with weaving. It's a straight length of weaving that then is curved around a mandrel to form the ring. Use any 6mm round bead.

Instructions
Step 1
Place the bead in the middle of the 20-gauge wire. (To find the length you need, use approximately 2x the length of the ring shank needed with a little extra inch for curls.)

Step 2
Wrap one side of the wire fully around the bead until both wires are running parallel, next to each other in the same direction.

Step 3
Shape the wire close to the bead and bring the tail ends in close together.

Step 4
Secure the weaving wire onto the bottom base wire by wrapping three times (I'm using 0.4mm/26 gauge but 0.3mm/ 28 gauge would give a finer weave.)

Step 5
Trim off the securing wire tail and tuck in with pliers to ensure there are no sharp ends to catch on skin or clothing and slide the coiled weaving wire close to the bead.

Step 6
You can do any 2 wire weave, such as a figure of eight weave, but this example shows three wraps around the bottom wire and two wraps around both wires.

Step 7
Repeat this weave to the length of the shank needed to wrap around the finger.
Pro Tip: To find the required length: position a piece of scrap wire around the ring mandrel at the intended size or around the finger and measure it against a ruler.

Step 8
Continue to wrap around the bottom wire to secure, this can be done three times to hold the weaving wire in place or continued for a couple of centimeters to make a decorative coil, before cutting off weaving wire and tucking in the end with pliers, so there is no sharp tail sticking up.

Step 9
Using round-nose pliers, curl the ends of the 0.8mm/ 20-gauge wire to make small spirals.

Step 10
When making a spiral with your round nose pliers: trim off the very beginning of your curl, to remove the straight start of the curl.

Do this on both ends of the 0.8mm/ 20 gauge base wires
Step 12
Shape to size around a ring mandrel, or your finger.
