Color Inspiration - Twigs

Outside with my camera after a rain storm one morning, this pile of twigs, plant stems, and flowers reminded me of an abstract work of art.
Interwoven branches of brown and yellow, silver, and umber are suspended over a terroir of green leaves, and grey earth.

The inspiration was to use gold colored wire, along with silver and bronze wire, accented by olivine, and onyx beads.

This long chain link necklace is made by wrapping wire around a ½-inch diameter dowel rod.

I used olivine faceted glass tube beads and 4mm black onyx round beads to create a chain long enough to wear without a clasp.

The wire is 18-gauge round craft wire in silver, paired with copper chain links. To add dimension and contrast, I included 16-gauge gold-colored wire.

You can make this necklace smaller by adding a clasp.
