Color Inspiration - Time to Make the Donuts

There was a cute commercial that went viral for a donut brand years ago and it featured a baker - sleepy tired from making so many donuts early in the morning saying, "time to make the donuts." Every time I see a gemstone donut, I think of this silly commercial. This time I decided to actually make one! Watch for the tutorial tomorrow.
My pal posted this beautiful image on Facebook and I knew it would be a great color inspiration for a jewelry project down the road.

While visiting my local rock shop I ran across some stunning lapis donuts and knew this would be the perfect match of color to that image!

I used a large donut and did some simple wire wrapping, then added a few copper crystals.

To make the deep blue donut really pop, I complemented it with turquoise beads.

The spirals symbolize growth, evolution, and expansion, as well as cycles and rhythm in nature.

I'm obsessed with spirals and love how a wire spiral adds the perfect finishing touch to jewelry.
