Color Inspiration - Small Town Winter

By the end of the movie, we were all cheering for the young woman to give up her lavish city life and stay in the charming small town where she'd fallen in love with the local inn manager. Maybe that touched me because I, too, sometimes long for a simpler way of life.

This snowy small-town scene brought that story to mind.

I drew inspiration from the landscape's winter palette the crisp white of the snow, the soft gray-blues of the sky, and the warm violets and yellow-golds of the houses. Using these hues, I created a pendant with a wire-wrapped bail and faceted bead accents around a drusy teardrop, then complemented it with a strand of gold, blue, and frosted white glass beads.
