Color Inspiration - Silver Flight

Color inspiration can come from anywhere. Even a deep blue sky and a few birds!

I was taking a walk along the Ohio river recently. As I heard the honking, and watched the geese fill the sky, I thought about arriving and departing. The effortless wings of birds in formation and the ritual of flight. I took this photo because these geese were set a little apart from the rest of the flock. They center the frame, wings slightly different on each bird. The expanse of sky captures the variants of blue.

The colors of clouds, the light breast feathers, and arching bird wings inspired this sterling silver lapel pin.
A muted color palette of sky mimics the calm blue of the chalcedony stone. Mother of pearl shimmers like the wispy
clouds. Rose quartz, and frosted glass, take the color of the birds breasts. The subtle shape of the silver pin alludes to the shape of birds in flight.
