Color Inspiration - Rosy Maple Moth
My friend and roommate moderates a page on social media that encourages her followers to share "all things art and nature." Truly, the small but open atmosphere of the postings allows many people to offer what they view as art or nature, or both! I have shared a handful of my own findings, the most recent being this incredible little creature: the rosy maple moth!
With its vibrant yellow hue paired with a sweet pink tone, it really made me say, "ooooooh!"
Nature offers so much beauty and variety.
I've never seen this little creature in real life, but spotting one would be incredible.
A bit of research showed that young caterpillars live and feed in small groups.
As they grow older, they become solitary and pupate underground.

The adult moths are nocturnal!
While the caterpillars feed on many types of maple trees and can become a defoliating pest, the adult moths do not eat.
That is wild!
Their coloring varies from mostly white with pink edges to vibrant pink and yellow patterns.
