Color Inspiration - Rose Garland
by Debbie Blair
I often wish I would have inherited my mom's green thumb. Everything she grows seems to flourish under her care, be it an exotic houseplant, like an orchid or African Violet, or a lavish vegetable garden. And her rose gardens have been no exception. My favorite flowers at my childhood home were the Peace roses my mom grew in our back yard. I can still recall their sweet perfume and their pale yellow centers and rosy pink edges.
Though my parents have moved away from the house I grew up in, my mom still grows a variety of roses, including Peace roses. When I received this photo in my email, I knew right away that I wanted to challenge myself to create a necklace using a limited color palette such as this.

Debbie Blair's Color Inspiration - Rose Garland - , Wire Jewelry Design, Design, I started with the large pale yellow rose focal and paired it with a variety of pink and white glass beads, plus bright gold spacers and chain. I formed wire-and-bead links using wrapped loops, and added wide gold ribbon to the ends. I think this necklace would be gorgeous with an Easter outfit, or to wear to a summer wedding.
