Color Inspiration - Red Poppy

When I was a child, I spent long summer days playing outside with my brother and sister. We were allowed only in the back yard. Never in the yard on the side of the house, and certainly not in the front. From the back yard we were able to see a big, bright poppy bush just over the fence on the east side of our house. The petals were a vibrant orange, the color of a stunning sunset. The centers seemed a dark purple hue, that of the darkest eggplant one has ever seen. I'm not quite sure why, but to this day, that orange poppy bush is tied to the happy memories of childhood, a deeply engrained image of my youth.
