Color Inspiration - Land and Sky

One of my fave reasons for living in Colorado is the colors! That's why Colorado's nickname is "Colorful Colorado." The mountain scenery, sky, rivers, lakes and plains are constantly changing with the shadows of the day and seasons. As an artist, I find these changes constantly fascinating and inform my artistic expression. I'm definitely not alone as so many creators throughout history have painted and been inspired by those magnificent mountain ranges and magical blue skies!
I took this picture with my cell phone in the car (from the passenger seat don't worry, I wasn't driving).

As we came around a bend in the highway, the view literally made us gasp in awe.

I knew right then I'd use this color palette in future jewelry creations.

Mother Nature is the best colorist, in my opinion!

I used 20-gauge amber-colored wire and Wubbers pliers to create the whimsical heart links.

The links are connected with large peacock blue 20-gauge wire jump rings.

The dangles feature bicones paired with my hand-painted silk beads.

I finished the piece with a lobster clasp for the final touch.
