Color Inspiration - Flower Power Necklace

Frequently, great design is found in the simplest of things. This happens when you least expect it and feels like a little inspiration gift. Here is my latest inspiration gift from Costco! I fell in love with the packaging artwork on hand soap bottles. As a jewelry designer, it's important to train your eye to see everyday items in a different way. Ask yourself these design questions, "Do I like the color pallet, design layout, use of textures?" Then ponder how to incorporate them into your next jewelry design.
I needed to create some type of chain links for this small watercolor necklace focal I made.

I wanted something basic but interesting with a touch of texture but not distracting from the focal.

Jump rings to the rescue! I used manufactured jump rings but you can also make your own

A pop of color with the crystal pulls the necklace together nicely while still keeping it simple.

Come up with your own stacked jump ring chain using 2, 3, or 4 jump rings.

You can also mix the jump ring colors for more variety. Jump on it!
