My daughter's school has been working on a series of fundraisers this year, one of our favorites being the school carnival. The entire community comes out for this special event, held once every two years on the school grounds. There are games and bounce houses, plus bake sales, snow cones and hot dogs.
Aside from the cake walk, where each child is assured a cupcake prize by the end of the game, my daughter's favorite thing about the carnival is the chance to splurge on treats that she otherwise wouldn't be allowed, her favorite being cotton candy.
This image of a woman making cotton candy for a festival inspired me to make a sweet pastel necklace. I used beading wire to string long strands of crystal pearls, then created wire-wrapped links of pearls and connectors I made from scrapbook paper and glass domes. To finish the necklace, I added a large resin dahlia focal. This necklace reminds me of all the sweet things in life.
Cheers!
Debbie
