Color Inspiration - Canna Leaves

Watching a canna leaf grow and unfurl is a seasonal treat in a flower garden. Variations of greens, and golds swirl into a concave wonder as the blossom emerges.

This color inspiration was used to create the jewelry-making pattern: Canna Leaf Wire Tornado Bead Necklace
The color inspiration came for me in the stripes of myrtle to camouflage greens coordinating with lighter apple and pear greens.

The golden glow of yellows thrive in the bright summer light.

Unique striped foliage eventually frames an orange flower for this perennial.

My Canna Ball necklace features wire balls in various sizes, using variegated colors inspired by the canna leaf.

I combined golden 28-gauge craft wire with light green 26-gauge wire, anchored by dark green 22-gauge wire.

The handmade chain is crafted from 20-gauge gold-colored wire.

I used a twist technique and hammered each link flat as I created the chain.

The necklace is finished with a contrasting "S" clasp made from dark green wire.
