Cathy Jakicic began making jewelry in the wee hours of the morning while working the
late shift at Milwaukee’s morning newspaper right after college. She has worked at number of newspapers and magazines since, including Bead Style magazine from 2005 to 2013 where she saw the magazine grow a spin-off of Bead&Button to an industry-leading publication with a vibrant website and a number of digital offerings.
She has written countless articles and three books on making jewelry: Hip Handmade
Memory Jewelry, Jewelry Projects from a Beading Insider and Quick & Easy Stitched Jewelry.
Today, she is editing the “Healthcare Facilities Today” website for Trade Press Media
Group, but still loves exploring all kinds of jewelry making, especially bead weaving,
stitching and embroidery.
