Tool of the Week for March 4, 2013

This week’s tool: Blue Handled Soldering Pick, #SPK-930.00

This week’s featured tool from JewelryTools.com is the Blue Handled Soldering Pick, SPK-930.00.

This is the soldering pick Patti uses in her Metalworking 101 DVDs. She uses it to pick solder, a style of soldering that allows precision and localized soldering, as well as to help solder flow into the joins.

The titanium pick won’t stick to the solder. Get the pick in your favorite color (blue, gold, or red – blue’s my favorite!) or get the set so if you want to be fancy, you can only use, say, the gold-handled pick to use with gold solder.

Plus, if you take a close look at the end of the handle, the handle’s edge is beveled so that it won’t roll away when you set it down. No need to worry about catching it with your torch in one hand!

Check out the projects you can make with Metalworking 101!
