Days at the JOGS Show: Lots to see!

We are starting our second week in Tucson with JewelryTools.com, our sister site. The JOGS Show alone has lots of sights to see! I took a walk around the show with Heather from JewelryTools and here’s a peek of what we saw. Thanks for the great pictures, Heather! (click each picture to enlarge it)

Carved Gemstone Perfume bottles – many people collect these, or give them as gifts. What gemstones can you see here? I see goldstone and a few others.

Look at all those delightful pliers! Don’t you just love Wubbers? And check out the yellow bag – JOGS is a bit of an enabler, giving buyers tote bags for all their goodies!

Oh my! This Tibetan bead and gift vendor sure knows how to get your attention…

Jeff Fulkerson and several of his students pose with the rings they made in his bezel class. There are still classes running through this coming Tuesday – click here to see.

Lots of finished jewelry available to buy here: bracelets, earrings, and necklaces.

    Rose,

I would have been right there along with you, but was in vehicle accident just a few days before the show began. Now I will have to purchase for the store without seeing many of the gems.

I love to touch, and see, and smell, and taste, well, maybe not taste, the gems that I purchase for my customers. They appreciate that I am choosy for them. I have loved going to the show in the past but have never taken a class while there. I just cannot seem to find the time. LOL.

Have a great time for me, and use ALL your senses to take it in. There are too many beautiful things to just “see”.

Feel so sad for those of you not able to be here. This is my 8th day; been to JOGS, Gem Mall, Pueblo, AGTA, GJX, and today the opening of the Holidome. The crowds are amazing, much bigger attendance than the last two years, AND the people are buying. Bulging bags everywhere. Trends? Saw a lot of curlicue work on stone pendants, including spirals used on the backs of the stones as additional decoration. Dark blue with Royal Fire on opals. Tons of druzies – everywhere! Lots of new designs on base metal chains. Pearl prices remaining steady, but silver price on findings and clasps astronomical. Hope this helps to assuage your sorrow at not being able to be here. Sincerely, Janice

I know that would be a great show to go to . Maybe I get to one sometime. Until then I need to see if we have a local show. I can’t imagine all those stones in one place.
